As a Driver for Bluebonnet you are usually the first and last person that the clinics and private individuals we serve get to interact with. This quite often is at a time when the person or family we are providing a service for has just lost as close to a family member as one can get without being such. Emotions are not collected and common sense as well as courtesy are not usually present. So your impression and how you handle yourself are very important.

Basic goals are customer satisfaction, which depend on how smoothly the receiving and return of their beloved pet is.

The Delivery Driver will both allow time for picking up and dropping off items, after choosing a predetermined route that changes from day to day. This route should be flexible yet time efficient. You should be willing to work as part of the delivery team if need be in order to ensure that the items are complete, packaged correctly, and safely delivered to the correct client in an efficient and un-intrusive manner.

To succeed as a Delivery Driver, you should be polite and prompt with a commitment to providing our vets and clients with a case-by-case interaction that is professional, organized and timely. You should also exhibit excellent situational awareness during vet clinic visits and steer clear in the event of a pet emergency.

You should be thorough in ensuring paperwork is properly and legibly filled out, you should be able to recognize situations, good and bad and be able to communicate effectively and clearly in order to provide a feeling of professionalism and confidence our vets and clients can trust.

Driver Responsibilities

• Representing Bluebonnet Pet Crematory in a positive professional manner.
• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to and from client’s private homes or vet clinics in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Accepting payments for delivered items.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients or ensuring the client is talking to someone who can answer their questions prior to you leaving that location if you can not answer the question.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules when possible.
• Being flexible and making realistic and efficient changes to routes when unexpected pickups come up.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record, which includes having proper and up to date truck documentation, vehicle maintenance needs and times.
• Proper and legal utilization of phones and GPS while driving.
• Notifying the manager when maintenance needs arise.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operating tools, equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, karts and dollies, scales, etc.

Delivery Driver Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license issued by the state where you intend to work.
• Clean driving record.
• Special licenses may be required to operate certain vehicles.
• Experience may be required and is preferred.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to drive long distances, walk, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
• Attention to detail.
• Maintaining a minimum of 09 pick-up-or deliveries a day.
